What If Weapons Had Emotions?
In my project, I will investigate the various ways in which emotions can be expressed through objects and how these emotions can be translated into specific designs or categories of weapons. My focus is on 3D modelling development, allowing me to delve into unexplored areas of creativity while expanding my knowledge of 3D asset design.
My goal is to conduct research, create concept art, and develop initial 3D models for weapons with emotional connotations. Through this project, I hope to push the boundaries of emotional design within the realm of weapons and contribute to a deeper understanding of how emotions influence designs. Overall, my project seeks to explore the potential of emotional design in weapon development. By examining the role of emotions in shaping weapon design, I hope to uncover new possibilities for creating weapons that are not only functional but also thought-provoking.
Tear Gas Grenade
The blobfish is a unique-looking fish known for its droopy appearance and unusual shape. On the other hand, tear gas canisters are commonly cylindrical and available in various sizes, which makes them adaptable to different types of launchers. Tear gas is commonly linked to aggression and violence, but the addition of a non-threatening design like the blobfish could potentially change people's perception of the weapon, allowing it to work more effectively.
When conceptualising my blobfish design, I recognised the inherent beauty and ambition behind the idea. The juxtaposition of the blobfish and tear gas grenades presented a captivating combination, evoking a range of connotations and emotions. In bringing this concept to life, my goal was to maintain the distinct characteristics of the blobfish while seamlessly integrating it with the tear gas grenade motif. It was essential to ensure that the design remained easily recognisable and conveyed a sense of cohesion. By skillfully blending these elements, I aimed to create a design that not only retained the unique form of the blobfish but also established a harmonious visual relationship with the tear gas grenades. Striking the balance between readability and cohesiveness was essential to achieving an optimal result.

The blade will take on the appearance of an eagle's sharp and hooked talons, which are proficient at cutting and puncturing. Additionally, the finger blade will showcase eagle-related embellishments, like engraved feathers. These details will not only heighten the weapon's aesthetic appeal but also add to its symbolism and importance.
When envisioning the design of my melee weapon, it was crucial to incorporate a long, curved blade. However, it became evident that creating a blade with a curvature as extreme as a bald eagle's talon would be both impractical and unrealistic for the intended purpose of the weapon. To maintain cohesiveness within the design, I sought an alternative approach. The idea of a melee weapon that could seamlessly slide onto one's finger emerged as a perfect solution. This concept not only offered practicality but also added a unique twist to the design. By infusing the elegance typically associated with eagles into my design, I was able to create initial outcomes that aligned with the calibre of my project. The graceful characteristics of these magnificent birds served as inspiration, allowing me to incorporate their distinctive traits into the overall aesthetic. This resulted in a design that achieved a balance between functionality and aesthetics, providing a practical and visually captivating melee weapon.
